I'd like to offer my apologies as a full week of February has gotten away before I've shared a few of the great things that St. Louis has to offer this month. Fortunately, I have been busy helping clients achieve their real estate goals, and even mixed in a real estate conference and a family vacation as well!

Patience Strong said: While it is February one can taste the full joys of anticipation. Spring stands at the gate with her finger on the latch.

Although we are excited about the coming days of Spring, let us not forget to relish in these last few weeks of Winter in St. Louis! As usual, I have a few suggestions for you to get out and enjoy it with me.

February 7-9

If you are looking for something to do this evening, perhaps you'll want to check out the Heaven and Earth exhibition at Art St. Louis. As you can imagine these works are about or inspired by, (you guessed it) Heaven and Earth!

First Friday with James Biko at Contemporary Art Museum is one good reason to make an evening of it at Grand Center Arts District. Other good reasons are all the neighboring organizations that are open late for your enjoyment.

In Tower Grove Park in the Piper Palm House on Saturday the 8th treat yourself to sampling several brands of whiskey at Whiskey in the Woods. The event is just the thing to warm up your winter chill. Bottles are included with some tickets!

If you want to try something new Tomorrow, aka Saturday, the Eastern Missouri Beekeepers Association is hosting a beekeeping workshop in Fenton that will improve your knowledge of the honey bee!

On Saturday and Sunday, Expressions of Love will be upon us at .Zack in midtown. Two nights of comedy and music will help benefit organizations in need.

If you're like me and enjoy a good story, check out STL Storytell as they present "The In Crowd", which invites audience members to share a true story about their life. This Moth-style event takes place at The Chapel Venue: A Sanctuary for the Arts.

Jazz pianist Christian Sands' High Wire Trio: Remembering Erroll Garner is on stage at The Sheldon on the 8th. With their smooth vibe, the group dazzles audiences wherever they tour, so this St. Louis concert will be a sure hit.

True story, the first person I ever saw in concert was Richard Marx. He was opening for New Kids on The Block at Six Flags a thousand years ago. Anyhow, I invited him back to St. Louis :) so that you can Hold Onto The Nights with your sweetie at Touhill Performing Arts Center.

On Sunday, Who Is Jill Scott? The 20th Anniversary tour will be at the Fabulous Fox Theatre and promises to be a great time.

February 10-16

While we’re all familiar with his famous Mona Lisa, isn’t Leonardo’s creative work something we would like to learn more about? That is possible at The Saint Louis Science Center where Da Vinci The Exhibition reveals much about this fascinating historical figure.

From Wednesday February 12th through Sunday March 8, it’s a funny kind of scary tale that will have you (and the mummy) tied up in stitches. See The Mystery of Irma Yep at The Rep.

Parents Night Out is back for 2020 and we are ready with dance games, movement classes, snacks and a movie! Enjoy some time out on the town with your loved one and let Consuming Kinetics Dance Company take the kids off your hands. This event is open to all youth!

On Valentine's day, you can check out the jazzy Americana vocals of Erin Bode at Jazz St. Louis, or check out Teddy Riley, Blackstreet, Bobby Brown & SWV at the Chaifetz Arena.

The Sheldon is hosting an opening reception for Winter/Spring Exhibitions along with Angeluique Kidjoe. Also, Ben Folds will be peforming with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.

One more day to dance... on 15th the Ashleyliane Dance Company presents “Love Spell: An Evening of Dance, Hair, and Fashion -- at Zack.

Now there's a different kind of art to inspire you at the 31Art Gallery Winter Exhibit, which showcases over 100 works of art from 8 local artists on the 15th. Saturdays only.

After immersing yourself in all that dynamic creative energy the last few days, now is the perfect time to wind down and wrap up the week at Taste of Soulard. The self-guided tasting and pub crawl is all about Cajun flavors -- at your own pace on the 15th and 16th.

On Sunday, The St. Louis Best Bridal wedding show is at the River City Casino, and you'll find me there with my Real Estate Solutions crew, talking with soon to be brides and grooms about achieving homeownership.

February 17-23

From the 20th through the 23rd Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s enchanting story about wishes coming true, Into the Woods, is showing at Missouri Baptist University.

On the 21st Four Hands Brewing presents Release The Hounds 2 at The Ready Room. The concert benefits, you guessed it… hounds and Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Saturday also offers Lift Every Voice: Black History Month Celebration where you can join the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and IN UNISON Chorus for this cherished annual tradition – an evening of reflective and soulful music that celebrates the music of African-American and African cultures.

Also on the 21st Voces8 with Special Guest Crossroads Quartet lift up their voices to the magnificent mosaic dome of the Cathedral Basilica.

Don’t miss out on a favorite winter pastime this season! Steinberg Skating Rink invites you to enjoy a chilly spin outdoors and a warm cup inside, through March 1.

Of course the Mardi Gras Parade will be upon us on Saturday, the 22nd. This event is the crown jewel of the Soulard Mardi Gras season and is the biggest parade outside of the Big Easy. It begins at Busch Stadium and proceeds through the streets of Downtown South and Soulard to the Anheuser-Busch Brewery.

February 24-29

A little color, a bit of form -- all for your viewing pleasure. The David Bruno Gallery offers viewers a number of striking exhibits through the 22nd. Artists include Leslie Laskey, Damon Freed, Ryan Eckert, and Andrea Stanislaw.

On the 24th the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts is the venue for the Webster University Diversity & Inclusion Conference.

Joan of Arc is presented by Saint Louis University Theatre from February 27th through March 1.

The Touhill Performing Arts Center has two back-to-back, must-see performances. On the 27th it’s Georgia on My Mind: A Celebration of the Music of Ray Charles, and on the 28th the UMSL Homecoming Lip Sync Competition will make for an awesome evening of entertainment. Catch both shows if you can!

So you Think You Want to Start a Nonprofit is your chance, on Thursday to get helpful hints, practical checklists, success stories and more as Sue Greenberg of Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts and Tracy James of Legal Services of Eastern Missouri offer this two part series at the Central Library in St. Louis.
